A talent for natural haunting vocals cuts through on any track, already a well fashioned singer songwriter she brings her earthy edge to ascian. Naomi Henstridge. 23 years old from Southampton Naomi lends her vocal talent to Ascian's haunting musical landscape. A singer/songwriter with a fresh distinct voice she sings with a deliberate soulful edge. Paul Jackson began the Ascian project over a year ago. Producing music from a small attic studio in Nottingham, the idea had been to bring an atmospheric haunting fusion of natural and electronic music with a real edge. Now with the musical scape firmly established more experimentation and songwritting are to bring new sounds as momentum gathers pace. ASCIAN 'The word first appears as a plural noun in its Latin form of Ascii in the seventeenth century, in a work by Nathanael Carpenter entitled Geography Delineated Forth in Two Books. He used it to describe people who lived in the tropics, for whom the sun at noon twice a year stands overhead, and so cast no shadows.
